How to request deletion of your data

This page explains how to request deletion of the data associated with RemotusTV (by DevKing Software), the app that turns your Windows PC or Android phone into a remote control for your Smart TV.

To request deletion, email us at contact@remotustv.com with the subject "Data deletion". To help us find your record, please tell us the platform you use (Android or Windows) and, if you bought Pro on this website, the e-mail you used at checkout. We handle your request within a reasonable time and confirm by e-mail once it is done.

What data RemotusTV holds

RemotusTV is built to keep almost everything on your own device. The only data tied to you (pseudonymously) is:

• Advertising ID (Android free version only): used by Google AdMob to show ads in the free Android app, and shared with Google/AdMob. You control or reset it in your Android settings (Privacy > Ads). There are no ads, and no advertising ID, in Pro or on Windows.
• Pseudonymous device identifier: a hashed (SHA-256) form of your device ID, not the raw ID and not personal data. It links your Pro licence to your device (device limit) and credits ad rewards. It is sent to our licensing backend on activation and kept while your licence is active.
• Optional usage statistics (opt-in): only if you agreed. Pseudonymous diagnostics (device model, OS version, screen resolution, theme, language), never your name, e-mail or precise location. You can turn it off in the app at any time.
• Not collected: your name, e-mail (except when you write to our support), password, precise location, contacts, photos, messages or browsing history.

What gets deleted, and what we keep

When we receive your request, we delete the data associated with your device or licence identifier from our licensing backend.

The advertising ID is controlled by you on Android (reset or disable it there); we do not store it. Usage statistics can be turned off in the app (which clears the local buffer), and the pseudonymous statistics on our backend are removed on your request.

If a purchase was involved, we may keep the minimum transaction records that tax or accounting law requires, for the legal retention period; everything else tied to your device or licence is deleted.
